A Trip to the Desert

<span class=

I recently found this meme at Scrapping Servant. I love this idea to share what God is teaching you and doing in your life.
He found him in a desert land,
and in the howling waste of the wilderness;
he encircled him, he cared for him,
he kept him as the apple of his eye
Deuteronomy 32:10
The past many weeks I have felt as if I was in this desert place. The "...howling waste of the wilderness..." was all around me. Just after the loss of my tiny little blessing we received grave news about my Grandmother, and Aunt. We have spent several of the weeks since going back and forth between our house and my parents house. Not only were we attending to our property and animals we were also preparing my parents home for my Grandmother to move in.

During this time my allergies have gone completely haywire. My damaged sinus became highly inflamed. An old injury in my neck decided it was going to flair up at the same time. I could not write, type, crochet, or sew. Most days I barely made it through the basics. Many days I just wanted to scream. I think some days I actually did.

Then He encircled me, He cared for me. I realized that He was calling me to a place of rest. So many times God has to bring me stop.
And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
Mark 6:31 KJV
I needed time to focus on Him. I needed to rest in Him. I will admit that some days as I rested I did not rest in Him. As I read and listen to worship music as of late I have found that place of rest and peace again.

I do not know why I still sometimes forget that God is my rest and my peace.
For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
Isaiah 51:3 KJV
We have been through so much this past year, and our living, loving Creator has been with us every step of the way. In the midst of the desert place I can find rest and peace.

Raye Ann,

I am so glad that God has been with you despite everything that has happened. In the midst of all these, you have grown in your walk with God, rest in Him and enjoy His peace.

Love and Hugs ~ Kat

I love this. Often times God calls me to be still (I remember Angela posting about this recently too). I often act sort of, um how can I put this? anxiety ridden, but God tells me to cast my cares on Him for He cares for me and He tells me to be still :)

I love how much He loves us.

Glad He called you to rest, I hope it worked :)
